Fry's Community Rewards

In September Fry’s introduced a new fundraising program called Community Rewards. We recently received a $2,100 check from Fry’s for which we’re grateful. This represents funds from 141 families who linked their Fry’s VIP card to ALA.

If you shop at Fry’s, please link your VIP card to ALA. Here’s how to get started. We appreciate any dollars we receive!

If you shop at other stores, please consider using Scrip for these places. Albertsons, Basha’s, Safeway, Walmart/Sam’s Club, Sprouts, and Target all offer ALA money based on your gift card usage. And we then share these funds with YOU for your tuition account. So be sure to use Scrip so that you can receive those funds!

Fry's Gift Program Is Ending

On Monday ALA received very bad news from Fry's that they are discontinuing their gift card program effective 7/27/13. This will significantly affect our ALA and Arizona WELS elementary school families as well as our ALA student body in general. 

Fry's is replacing the gift card program with a new program, "Fry's Community Rewards." Beginning August 1 you can link your Fry's VIP card to ALA online. Fry's will give $500,000 a quarter to its participating organizations. The amount we receive will be determined by the spending of our linked supporters as it relates to the total spending of all participating organizations.

Fry's has told us that they will not be able to give us a statement of profits generated by individuals. Sadly this means that we will no longer be able to share these dollars that we receive from Fry's with you.

Several points going forward:

• If you continue to shop at Fry's, please be sure to enroll in the new program so that ALA receives every possible dollar it can from the FCR program. The Fry's gift card program accounted for 2/3 of our Scrip program earnings each year, so we will need to make up these dollars as much as possible.

• Please remember that every other grocery store in Arizona DOES offer Scrip, so feel free to review your shopping options and purchase Scrip for other stores.

• Between now and 7/27/13 feel free to reload your Fry's gift cards and/or purchase new cards from ALA or your Scrip rep at your church. Any cards reloaded or purchased WILL receive our usual 6% profit that we will share with you for tuition credit or your congregation. The money will remain on your card until you have spent it - the money will NOT disappear on 7/27.

• You can load $500 onto a card at a time, and you can have up to $1,000 on a card.

Buy, Save, Earn, Reload!

Fry's gladly accepts Scrip payment for gift cards from their kiosk. That means you can use your Fry's Scrip gift card to pay for any gift cards you would like at Fry's.

Fry's gives double fuel points when you purchase gift cards. That means you'll earn fuel discounts twice as fast when you purchase gift cards at Fry's!

And when you pay with Scrip, you earn 6% for ALA!

"Expired" Fry's card?

Have you ever tried to reload your Fry's card only to be told it's "expired?"

Fry's Scrip cards do "expire" after 90 days with a $0 balance. If this is the case you will need to purchase a new card from ALA, register the number with us, and then you can reload and earn Scrip profits.

Not sure of your Fry's card balance? Call the number on the back of the card to get the balance and card history. (1-866-822-6252)

$4,050 from Fry's in 1 month because our people RELOAD!

In March 489 ALA supporters reloaded their Fry's cards for a total of $67,501! That means that these 489 people were able to earn Scrip profits right at Fry's!

Share the profits?
You may be wondering if these folks will get to share in the $4,050 of profits that their reloads generated. The answer is a resounding YES! We do indeed share these profits with our people for their tuition accounts or their congregations, just like we do when they purchase regular plastic cards.

Why should you reload?
These supporters didn't have to find their Scrip rep and purchase additional cards. They could earn profits any time of day, at their own convenience. $31,000 from Fry's!

Today we received a $31,000 check from Fry's. On the check stub I noticed that it said, "Satisfied Customers Made This Check Possible."

I say, "AWESOME CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SUPPORTERS MADE THIS CHECK POSSIBLE!"

A huge thank you to all of you who reload and/or purchase Fry's cards to pay for all your Fry's shopping. It means so much to our students at ALA and all the families who use these dollars to assist them with the cost of Christian education!

Cool Cash is a limited time program each school year. Reloading Fry's Scrip cards is something you can do every day, all year long, at every store. So if you're shopping at Fry's, reload your card and make sure you generate every Scrip dollar you possibly can.

Why Fry's reloading is the way to go...

Reloading your Fry's Scrip card is easier and more reliable than you think. Here's why:

1. Reloading your Fry's Scrip card makes Scrip profits available to you whenever you have to go to Fry's. You do not have to plan ahead, find your Scrip rep, and purchase more plastic cards. It's easy to reload your card just before you check out at the cash register, or you may reload at the service desk. You can even reload your Fry's card at the fuel center.

2. Every Fry's card purchased from your Scrip rep is registered to ALA. So when you reload it, a 6% profit is automatically credited to ALA. This reload shows up on a spreadsheet that Fry's emails to us once a month. If we know your Fry's card number, we can share the profits with you. Click here to register your Fry's card number. (If you'd like to verify your reloads, simply save your receipts and compare the total of your receipts to the total that I email you each month.)

3. You can easily earn the Fry's 6% rebate when you purchase gift cards from the gift card kiosk. Simply pay for those gift cards with your Fry's Scrip gift card. There's a big bonus to this - you will earn double and sometimes quadruple fuel points when you purchase gift cards at Fry's!

4. You can pay for your reload with your credit card that earns you miles or cash back. (When you pay for your Fry's cards at ALA with a credit card, we pay a credit card processing fee, reducing the benefit to our students.)

5. Reloading saves ALA much time and money. ALA pays 100% up front to Fry's for these gift cards, and we receive a rebate check just twice a year. It also takes quite a bit of time to order, pick up, process, and send out the Fry's Scrip to our 25 Scrip reps throughout Arizona.

Fry's Scrip reloads

Wow! 131 ALA supporters reloaded their Fry's Scrip cards for a total of $53,595 in November! I can't wait to see what the December total is!

When you reload your Fry's card at Fry's, you automatically generate a 6% rebate for ALA. Fry's sends monthly reports of these reloads to us at ALA, so that we can share 50% of your personal rebate with you for tuition or your congregation.

That means you can generate Fry's profits any time that you're at the store. And remember that you can pay for groceries, fuel, gift cards from the kiosk, and pharmacy purchases with your Fry's card.

Fry's Cool Cash

This week we received our first $500 Fry's Cool Cash check which represents 1% of the first $50,000 sales that you have generated since linking your VIP cards to ALA. Congratulations and thank you!
The most recent report shows that we are over halfway to our second check. Keep up the great work, and God bless you for taking these simple steps to provide dollars for our students!

Fry's & Basha's reloads

If you reloaded your Fry's and Basha's cards during October a confirmation of those reloads was sent to you in the last week. If you did not receive a confirmation, please contact Mrs. Martz (Scrip@ALAcoyotes.org) so that she can make sure you receive credit for your reloads.

Fry's Scrip Reloading

I have emailed confirmations of all Fry's reloads processed in September. If you are reloading your Fry's card and did not receive a confirmation in your email, please email me and make sure you are getting credit for your reloads.

Reload (add dollars to) your Fry's Scrip at any register or customer service counter, or at the fuel center.

Purchase your groceries, prescriptions, fuel, and other gift cards (NOT Fry's cards) with Fry's Scrip.

All reload profits will be shared 50/50 with you for tuition credit.
